Before refridgeration, during the summer, it was impossile to brew beer because of the hot weather. Brewing would end when spring ended and began again in the fall. The Märzen beers were brewed in March and kept in cold storage until the fall.
Oktoberfest beers are typically darker beers, rich and full-bodied. The most common of these beers is the Munich Oktoberfest beer served at Wies'n, where the Oktoberfest celebrations are held every September-October in Germany.
